The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority announced the seizure of an illegal drilling rig in Mafraq / Al-Manarah, based on information received by the Internal Control Directorate, in coordination with the Public Security Directorate’s Preventive Security Unit at Al-Manarah Center, the Water Basins and Drilling Directorate, and the Central Workshops Directorate, after the rig was found drilling an unauthorized well.

Specialized technical teams and security personnel from the Public Security Directorate, Al-Manarah Badia Security Center, and Preventive Security units seized the rig and backfilled the illegal well. The drilling rig was impounded and held by the Central Workshops Directorate, while investigations are ongoing in preparation for referring the case to the judicial authorities.
In the Al-Mouqer area, and in coordination with Miyahuna Water Company and security agencies from the Central Badia Police Directorate, three illegal connections—each with a diameter of two inches—were detected on the Al-Mouqer main transmission line (300 mm in diameter) used to fill water tankers. The violations were removed, reports were prepared, and investigations are ongoing.
The Water Authority praised the significant efforts exerted by the security agencies within the Public Security Directorate, particularly the Preventive Security personnel at Al-Manarah Badia Security Center and the Central Badia Police Directorate, as well as all Public Security officers and personnel, affirming that its campaign to monitor and remove any violations will continue.
