Tomorrow, Tuesday, marks the 27th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne.
Since His Majesty ascended the throne on June 9, 1999, Jordan has witnessed significant developments in building and consolidating a modern state, strengthening the rule of law, and achieving progress, renaissance, and milestones across various economic, social, and political fields. This period has also seen the launching of strategically vital projects, alongside the development and restructuring of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army and security agencies.

Developing Jordan, building its future, and serving its people remain His Majesty's top priority, as he consistently expresses his pride in the achievements made by Jordanians.
Since assuming his constitutional powers, His Majesty has launched Royal Initiatives across all Jordanian governorates, directorates, and Badia regions. These initiatives aim to boost development in educational, health, industrial, and productive sectors, and to encourage community members to play an active role in achieving sustainable development.
His Majesty places great importance on improving the healthcare sector by constructing new hospitals, developing healthcare services throughout the Kingdom, launching programs to strengthen social protection, and improving the living conditions of low-income families.
His Majesty is also keen to enrich the democratic process and enhance the role of the legislative authority as a cornerstone in the democratic framework of the Jordanian state.
Furthermore, His Majesty pays great attention to reinforcing the principles of good governance out of a commitment to building a free national economy, sustaining economic development, combating poverty and unemployment, fostering an attractive investment climate, and launching initiatives aimed at achieving economic renaissance to position Jordan as a regional gateway for information and communications technology (ICT).
As the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, His Majesty the King prioritizes the Arab Army and security agencies, ensuring that these institutions remain at the forefront in terms of preparation, training, and qualification.
His Majesty continues his efforts to defend the causes of the Arab nation, most notably the Palestinian cause, viewing it as a Hashemite-Jordanian priority to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Since His Majesty the King assumed his constitutional powers, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has sustained her efforts to support initiatives that align with His Majesty’s vision across various sectors, particularly in education and development.
Through her continuous engagement with citizens across the Kingdom’s governorates, Her Majesty is dedicated to sponsoring entrepreneurial projects and ideas by local community members, thereby fostering the empowerment of women and youth and supporting productive, creative, and cultural sectors.
Her Majesty supports the developmental priorities of local communities through an institutional framework encompassing several initiatives and organizations under her patronage. These include the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development, the Jordan River Foundation, Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, the Royal Health Awareness Society, the Children’s Museum Jordan, the Madrasati Initiative, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and the National Council for Family Affairs.
Through her international activities, Her Majesty also contributes to amplifying Jordan's humanitarian voice and stance, and strengthening cooperation between Jordanian organizations and their international counterparts, in harmony with His Majesty the King's efforts and reflecting the enduring principles of the Jordanian state.
This approach is evident in Her Majesty’s positions and speeches at international forums, where she consistently calls for safeguarding the rights of children and women to life and protection. She has also warned of the consequences of declining trust in international humanitarian law due to double standards toward minorities and the vulnerable, and how this could lead to widespread global chaos and instability.
