Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said Thursday that the Israeli government’s policies and unlawful measures threatening the region’s security and stability have been exposed before the world.
He stressed that Jordan will continue to expose what he described as the occupation’s inhumanity and the destructive consequences of its continuation, while mobilizing practical, effective and deterrent international measures.
In a post on X, Safadi said voices are growing louder during the United Nations General Assembly meetings against the Israeli government’s “inhumane” policies, the killing of children, the destruction of schools, the starvation of civilians, and the denial of the right to freedom of five million Palestinians living under occupation.
He added that Israeli “tools of deception and mouthpieces” have intensified their efforts in what he described as “desperate campaigns to distort history, obscure facts, and cast doubt on the credibility of anyone who condemns its crimes and calls on it to respect international law and humanitarian values.”
Safadi said these “baseless campaigns” target the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies, as well as countries and leaders who have said enough to oppression, injustice, occupation and the undermining of regional security.
He stressed that the voice of truth is louder and that all the Israeli government’s “lies and mouthpieces” will ultimately be confronted by it.
Safadi said Jordan will continue exposing what he called the occupation’s inhumanity and the destructive consequences of its continuation, while mobilizing practical, effective and deterrent international measures to curb the Israeli government’s expansionist policies and aggression.
“We want a just peace that guarantees security and stability for the entire region; because we believe in justice and international law; and because we are committed to shared humanitarian values,” he said.
Safadi stressed that the Israeli government is “holding the future of the entire region hostage to conflict and suffering,” saying this is the reality the Israeli government is attempting in vain to bury and the situation that the international community must work together to change.
He emphasized the need to hold the Israeli government accountable for violations of international law, the injustice, oppression and deprivation imposed on the Palestinian people, and the conflicts imposed on the region that threaten international peace and security.
