On the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of the Kingdom, the Royal Jordanian Hashemite Documentation Center has re-published Issue No. 1127 of Al-Urdun (Jordan) newspaper from 1946. This issue chronicles the immortal historical events of independence and the royal coronation.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Center explained that the bulletin includes archival news reports documenting pivotal moments in the history of independence. These reports cover the historic decision declaring the Jordanian territories a fully independent state and the pledge of allegiance (Bay'ah) to His Majesty King Abdullah bin Al-Hussein. It also captured the celebrations surrounding the pledge and the arrival of delegations from across the Arab world.
The Center noted that the issue features key speeches, celebrations, banquets, and the attendance of various press representatives. This publication is part of the Center's ongoing efforts to preserve the national memory and document the events that served as major turning points in the journey of the Jordanian state.
