The ministry stated in a press release on Tuesday that the newly constructed bridge spans 75 meters and is part of the second phase of the plan for maintenance and rehabilitation of bridges and protective structures along the Dead Sea–Suwaymeh–Zara–Ghor Haditha road.

The project included demolishing the old Bridge No. 9 and building a new concrete bridge 75 meters long and 13 meters wide, featuring two lanes in each direction with external shoulders.

The work carried out encompassed construction excavations, building the bridge foundations, walls, concrete beams, and the bridge deck, as well as installing gabions and protective structures beneath the bridge, asphalt paving, hot painting, and rainwater drainage systems above and below the bridge.

This project is part of the ministry’s efforts over the past five years to protect bridges along the Dead Sea road, prevent soil erosion under bridge foundations, and enhance structural conditions to ensure road safety and safeguard citizens’ lives.
