AMMAN — The
Public Security Directorate (PSD) issued a statement Tuesday after two brothers were murdered and their father was stabbed multiple times in Irbid on Monday.

The police said that they had apprehended a suspect, and that he had been taken to a rehabilitation center for 15 days and faces two murder charges, an attempted murder charge, and a charge for possessing a sharp object that endangers public safety.
A brother of one of the victims also took to Facebook on Tuesday to say there were no previous disputes between the family and the alleged killer, according to Al-Ghad News. He added that the father was in stable condition.
For his part, the media spokesman for PSD said that the Irbid Governorate Police Directorate received a report on Monday, that a person had stabbed two people and their father in the center of Irbid, following a disagreement between the two parties.
He added that a security force immediately responded, and the injured were transferred to a hospital, resulting in the deaths of the two brothers, while their father is receiving treatment.
