Parliamentary committee to question Water Minister on financial waste

AMMAN — Head of the Parliamentary Agriculture and Water Committee MP Mohammed Al-Alaqma said that the committee will hold a special meeting with Minister of Water Muhammad Al-Najjar to follow up on an Audit Bureau report that highlighted financial waste in the construction of dams in the Kingdom.اضافة اعلان

The MP stated that the committee wants to verify a report that a minister ordered three million square meters of water to be released from Wala Dam, leading it to dry up.

The Agriculture and Water Committee will also discuss with Najjar preparations made by the ministry for the current rainy season and plans to benefit from the rainfall.

The meeting will also touch on dams in Jordan and the progress of the National Water Carrier Project, which is considered a key strategic water project.
