Due to rock-cutting work required for the road expansion—and in order to ensure the safety of road users—the road will be closed to traffic for the entire duration of the works, which is estimated at 90 days.
The project will include excavation and backfilling to increase road capacity, the implementation of three paving layers including a surface asphalt layer, and rainwater drainage works involving culverts and lining of roadside ditches with concrete. Additionally, metal guardrails will be installed to enhance road safety.
The Ministry urges citizens to cooperate during the construction period and use alternative routes, such as the Arjan–Um Al-Louz–Jdeita road, during the closure. It also clarified that the road closure does not apply to residents of the area.
The Ministry also calls on all citizens and road users to adhere to the warning and guidance signs, and to follow the instructions issued by the Ministry and its partners in the Public Security Directorate to ensure public safety.
