Ministry of Agriculture Opens Olive Oil Import Applications Due to Drop in Local Production
The Ministry of Agriculture announced that it will start accepting applications for olive oil imports from Sunday, November 9, 2025, until the end of the working day on Thursday, November 13, 2025. This step comes as part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure sufficient supply of olive oil in local markets at appropriate quality and prices, following a decline in domestic production this season.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry confirmed that imports will only be allowed from member countries of the International Olive Council, in compliance with international standards to guarantee the quality of imported products.

Companies and institutions wishing to import are required to submit their applications with the following official documents:

Commercial registration showing import/export and food trade/distribution purposes,

Importer card issued according to regulations,

Social security statement for the company or institution for 2024 and 2025.

The Ministry emphasized that this move aims to provide a stable supply of olive oil for consumers, balance supply and demand in local markets, and protect prices from unjustified increases due to reduced domestic production this year.

Additionally, the Ministry will continue to monitor the local olive season and production quantities from local mills, while supporting farmers through its marketing and awareness programs, alongside measures to ensure both domestic and imported products meet high-quality standards.

A specialized team will carefully review all applications to ensure compliance with the specified conditions and standards, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors to sustain the olive sector, a key pillar of Jordan’s food security and agricultural economy.
