Abu Ghazaleh affirmed that the project reflects the wise royal directives to expand the investment map across the governorates, enhancing economic development, creating job opportunities for local residents, and improving citizens’ standard of living.

During his meeting with the main investor from Kuwait, attended by Tafila’s parliamentary representatives and investment sector officials, the minister highlighted that the project underscores the governorate’s attractive investment environment and promising opportunities. He noted that its launch in Tafila Industrial City marks a new chapter in the size and quality of investments in the city.

The minister explained that this new industrial project is part of a comprehensive investment roadmap being developed across various regions of the Kingdom, particularly the southern region, which will soon see several high-quality investment opportunities aimed at boosting economic activity and supporting local community development—the primary goal of attracting investment.

Abu Ghazaleh emphasized that the Ministry of Investment continues to facilitate the investor’s journey at all stages, from providing information and opportunities, offering electronic and field services, simplifying procedures, coordinating with relevant authorities, to following up on project implementation on the ground to ensure sustainability.

He expressed appreciation for the Kuwaiti investor’s confidence in choosing Jordan for several of his investments, placing them within the series of successful Kuwaiti investment projects in the country. He assured that the ministry will provide all necessary support to ensure the project’s success and maximize investment returns in the region, in cooperation with government agencies.

During the meeting, the minister listened to the project’s future plans, including direct and indirect employment opportunities, as well as expansion possibilities in upcoming phases.

The project, named “SASAM,” includes a factory for producing electrical transformers. In its first phase, it will employ around 50 workers, with full production capacity expected within 3–5 years, along with potential doubling of the investment value and workforce depending on expansion pace.

SASAM’s Chairman, Haydar Al-Zankawi from Kuwait, praised efforts to attract investment and facilitate investors’ work, expressing appreciation for the warm reception in Tafila, which he described as a business-friendly environment.

Local officials and parliamentarians welcomed the Kuwaiti investment delegation, affirming that Tafila provides a secure and supportive environment for investment success. They highlighted the governorate’s key advantages and investment opportunities and their importance in boosting investments that positively impact the local community and national economy.

The attendees also commended the Ministry of Investment’s role in attracting investments and facilitating investors across Tafila’s regions and sectors, especially given the governorate’s promising opportunities, natural resources, and wealth.

Notably, the project’s first phase will include preparing infrastructure and the construction site within the industrial city, while the second phase will involve supplying equipment and production inputs, paving the way for operational launch in the coming months.
