The King expresses appreciation for Indonesia’s supportive positions toward efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

The King bestows the Order of the Renaissance (Special Grade) upon the Indonesian President in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the distinguished relations between the two countries.

His Majesty King Abdullah II and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held talks on Friday at the Merdeka Presidential Palace in Jakarta, focusing on the close relations between the two countries and developments in the Middle East.

His Majesty reaffirmed the depth of the 75-year-long Jordanian-Indonesian ties and the commitment to expanding cooperation in the fields of mining, industry, halal products, defense, cybersecurity, and countering extremism.

During the talks, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Chief Advisor to His Majesty for Religious and Cultural Affairs and His Majesty’s personal envoy, the King underscored the importance of establishing a strategic partnership with Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund (Danantara) to open new horizons for economic cooperation and enhance the exchange of expertise in developing, managing, and growing public investments.

On Middle East developments, His Majesty expressed appreciation for Indonesia’s steadfast support of efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

He stressed the need to adhere to the agreement to end the war in Gaza and to halt escalation against Palestinians in the West Bank, emphasizing the importance of stopping violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and preserving their historical and legal status quo.

On the sidelines of the royal visit, two memoranda of understanding were signed between the governments of the two countries—one in higher education, science, and technology, and the other in the health sector.

His Majesty bestowed upon President Prabowo Subianto the Order of the Renaissance (Special Grade) in recognition of his efforts to strengthen the distinguished relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.

The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Director of His Majesty’s Office Eng. Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Investment Dr. Tareq Abu Ghazaleh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Indonesia Sadiq Al-Amoush.
