AMMAN – On Saturday, Khaberni reported that
the disbursement of fuel support for public transportation operators in the
fourth quarter of 2023 is set to commence on Monday.

The Director-General of the
Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC), Abdul Rahim Al-Wreikat, emphasized the importance of
adhering to the final disbursement date, enabling subsequent payments to
proceed smoothly.
This support, mandated by a Cabinet decision,
aims to assist operators of passenger transport lines and
taxi services under
the commission's jurisdiction. All necessary procedures for fuel support
disbursement have been finalized, allowing eligible operators to refuel their
vehicles at authorized stations with approved subsidy values during the
specified timeframe.
Wreikat highlighted that these disbursements
are part of the government's strategy to address the additional costs arising
from escalating fuel prices. By covering these expenses, the government seeks
to prevent fare hikes, thereby easing the financial burden on
citizens utilizing public transportation.
The subsidies are disbursed based on the type
of fuel used for transportation through approved stations in each governorate.
