Jordan records 5,256 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 9.38%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 5,256 new COVID-19 cases and 42 new deaths on Monday, bringing the total death toll to 12,024 and the total number of cases to 1,015,289.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 2,172 cases, while Zarqa recorded 557 cases. Irbid registered 933 cases, Balqa 423 cases, Karak recorded 147 cases, Jerash recorded 154 cases, and Tafileh recorded 46 cases. Madaba registered 210 cases, Aqaba 74, Ramtha 91, and Ajloun 178.

The ministry said in a statement that 150 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 214 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 66,323 according to the ministry. Out of 56,041 COVID-19 tests conducted Monday, 9.38 percent of them came back positive.
