The showers could be heavy for short periods in some areas and may be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and occasional hail. This could increase the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, particularly in southern and eastern Jordan.

On Saturday, moderate temperatures are expected across most areas, while conditions will be relatively hot in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Clouds will appear at various altitudes, with scattered showers expected in parts of the eastern and southern regions, including Aqaba. Some showers may be heavy for short periods and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.

The risk of flash floods will increase in valleys and low-lying areas in southern and eastern Jordan, particularly during the afternoon. Winds are also expected to strengthen at times, raising dust levels in the Badia.

Thunderstorm activity may continue overnight in parts of the eastern and southeastern regions.

On Sunday, the impact of the unstable weather is expected to expand, with scattered showers forecast in several parts of the Kingdom, including Aqaba, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms.

The unstable conditions are expected to intensify during the afternoon, increasing the possibility of heavy rain for short periods in parts of the southern and eastern regions. Thunderstorms and hail may accompany the rainfall, raising the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.

Southeasterly winds are also expected to become active, with occasional strong gusts that could stir up dust and reduce horizontal visibility, particularly in the Badia.

The unstable weather will continue on Monday, with scattered showers expected across various parts of the Kingdom. Some rainfall could be heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.

Overnight, rainfall is expected to be concentrated in parts of the eastern and southeastern regions.

Current forecasts indicate that the impact of the unstable weather will ease on Tuesday, with a slight drop in temperatures to around their usual climatic averages for this time of year. Moderate autumn conditions are expected across most areas, while temperatures will remain relatively high in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba.

The Jordan Meteorological Department urged the public to remain alert to the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas in southern and eastern Jordan, particularly on Saturday and Sunday. It advised people to stay away from valleys and areas where rainwater accumulates and avoid attempting to cross roads that may be affected by flooding.

The department also called for caution during thunderstorms, advising people to avoid exposed and elevated areas during lightning and thunder. It warned of slippery roads during rainfall, particularly when rain begins, as well as reduced visibility caused by dust in the Badia and fog during the early morning hours in high mountainous areas, parts of the Badia and the plains.

The department noted that unstable autumn weather can vary significantly in both location and timing, with some limited areas potentially receiving heavy rainfall over short periods while other areas experience light rainfall or no rain at all.

It stressed that intense rainfall over a short period can lead to localized flash floods even when the weather system has a geographically limited impact.

The department said it continues to monitor and analyze the latest numerical weather models, satellite imagery and meteorological observation data around the clock. It noted that forecasts for unstable weather conditions may be updated as weather developments evolve.

The public was urged to follow official weather bulletins and warnings issued by the Jordan Meteorological Department and avoid relying on unverified information to protect their safety and property.
