The government has made it a strategic priority to develop a green ammonia and green hydrogen industry, signing numerous Memorandums of Understanding with international partners to explore investment in this vital and emerging energy sector. The aim is to position Jordan as a regional hub for the production and export of green hydrogen.
Green hydrogen is a clean, renewable energy source produced using electrolysis powered by renewable electricity, and has multiple applications — from electricity generation and industrial use to heating.
The initiative aligns with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision (2020–2030), which emphasizes sustainable resource development and prioritizes investment in green hydrogen projects as part of its strategic goals.
