Japanese envoy hails strong ties with Jordan

AMMAN — Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Shimazaki Kaoru on Tuesday described Japanese-Jordanian relations as distinguished and based on mutual respect.

In remarks during an online lecture tackling the contemporary history of Japan, organized by Al-Hussein Technical University (HTU), the ambassador expressed his country’s keenness to strengthen scientific, academic and cultural cooperation with Jordan, delivering a brief on the Japanese development experience.

HTU’s Dean of the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Lina Shbeeb praised Japan’s support to Jordan in various fields.

Miyahara Chie, Jordan office director of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said that the agency provides support to Jordanian universities through specialized training programs, and supports various projects in the fields of energy and engineering, reviewing the most important programs run by the agency to support Jordanian youth.
