JFDA nabs facility tampering with expiry date of medical supplies

AMMAN — The monitoring and inspection teams of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) shut down a facility in Amman for tampering with the expiration date of medical supplies and sanitizers for surgical procedures, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.اضافة اعلان

JFDA’s Director-General Nizar Al-Mhedat said that the supervisory teams of the Directorate of Medical Devices and Supplies have inspected more than 200 facilities to sell medical supplies and cosmetic materials since the beginning of the year.

He said the inspections included nearly 60 industrial establishments for the purposes of examining their licenses, and the renewal of licenses and granting a certificate of good manufacturing of medical devices and supplies.

Mhedat said the administration monitors and tracks the chain of manufacture, import, export and circulation of various medical devices, laboratory supplies and cosmetics according to a quality control, awareness and regulatory methodology, including periodic inspection of facilities, monitoring of irregularities and taking the necessary measures.
