In a statement, the agency added that the sale of cigarettes to individuals under the age of 18 is also prohibited. It further noted that selling cigarettes individually, as well as manufacturing, importing, distributing, or selling imitation tobacco products—including candy, cakes, toys, and items designed to resemble tobacco products—is prohibited under Public Health Law No. 47 of 2008 and its amendments.

The JFDA stressed the importance of shared responsibility in combating the risks of smoking in order to protect public health and society, with the goal of achieving a healthy, smoke-free community.
