Irbid - The value of certificates of origin issued by the Irbid Chamber of Industry last month was $100.3 million, compared to $84.6 million in the same month last year, with an increase of 18.5 percent, according to Chamber figures. It said in a report that 1,214 certificates of origin were issued last month, compared to 940 in the same period last year. Textiles and leatherware came first with $88.8 million in exports, followed by food and agricultural products at $4.5 million, medical industries $2.7 million, and the rest went to chemicals and cosmetics, plastic and rubber industries, engineering, electricals, IT, packaging, paper and cardboard, office supplies, and construction. The Al-Hassan Industrial City took the lion's share of exports, at more 95 percent, the report showed. The chamber's president Hani Abu Hassan owed the growth to five key industrial sectors with a share of about 93 percent.
