Hot weather Saturday, heat wave to taper off tomorrow - JMD

AMMAN — Saturday will see a slight drop in temperatures, and the weather will be relatively hot almost countrywide especially in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update. According to the JMD, the heat wave will recede on Sunday, as another drop in temperatures is forecast and the weather will be fair in the mountainous heights and plains, and hot in the desert, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, Jordan News Agency, Petra reported.

On Monday, a slight rise in temperatures is expected, as the weather will return to be relatively hot almost nationwide on Monday and Tuesday and especially so in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.

Today, Amman will hit a high of 35°C and a low of 19°C, while the port city of Aqaba will see a sweltering 43°C, sliding to 27°C at night.
