The ministry said that five cases are still receiving medical care at Tafilah Governmental Hospital and are all in stable condition, while six cases were discharged from the hospital after their health improved on Saturday evening. It confirmed that no new cases have been recorded.

The ministry explained that it has put in place a treatment protocol for cases infected with RSV and any secondary bacterial infections, if present. It noted that RSV is a common respiratory virus transmitted through respiratory droplets or direct contact, and typically causes upper respiratory tract symptoms that are often mild to moderate, especially when addressed early and in accordance with approved medical guidelines.

It added that Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al-Badour directed the dispatch of another team specializing in infection control and health awareness to Tafilah Governorate to strengthen infection-control measures and raise awareness among service providers about the mechanisms of RSV transmission. Rapid response teams and the crisis cell continue to monitor the health situation at the shelter.

The Ministry of Health stressed that the situation is under control and not a cause for concern, calling for adherence to general hygiene practices and respiratory prevention measures, especially in gathering places and care facilities.
