This increase, according to a statement from the Ministry of Finance, is a result of an increase in tax revenues by approximately 177.6 million dinars and an increase in non-tax revenues by around 210 million dinars.

The increase in tax revenues is due to an increase in income tax and profits tax revenues of 215.9 million dinars, due to improved taxpayer compliance in submitting tax returns without raising tax rates.

On the general expenditure front, the total expenditure for the central government/budget during the first eight months of 2023 amounted to approximately 7032.2 million dinars, compared to 6836 million dinars during the same period of the previous year, due to an increase in current expenditures of 378.7 million dinars compared to the same period of the previous year.
