Gov’t terminates oil shale concession agreement

AMMAN — Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh informed Chairman of the Karak International Petroleum Private Limited Shareholding Co. Paul Griffin that the government is terminating the concession agreement for surface distillation of oil shale signed by the Jordanian government and the Karak company, according to a local news outlet.اضافة اعلان

Under Article 21 of the agreement, the company may resubmit the development plan as many times as it deems appropriate, but if the Agriculture, and water and irrigation ministries reject the development plan within 24 months from the submission of the first development plan, the agreement shall be terminated.
