The National Center for Curriculum Development and Evaluation has announced an update to the viewing mechanism for approved school textbooks on its official website. Under the new system, textbooks are available for direct online viewing only, without the option to download, as part of the center's commitment to facilitating access to approved educational content for students, teachers, and parents while protecting copyrights.

This update aims to ensure that digital textbooks remain accessible exclusively from their official source, limiting unauthorized copying, republication, distribution, or sale without prior consent from the copyright holder.
The center clarified that granting access to view textbooks on its website does not constitute a license to download, copy, photocopy, reproduce, print, publish, distribute, circulate, sell, or exploit them for commercial purposes, in whole or in part, by any means.
It further emphasized that the textbooks and educational content published on its website are subject to the provisions of the Copyright and Neighboring Rights Law No. (22) of 1992 and its amendments, which regulates reproduction, publication, distribution, and public availability rights, protecting works from unauthorized use or exploitation.
The center urged bookstores, online platforms, and various entities to adhere to copyright laws and refrain from extracting copies of the textbooks available on the website, republishing, printing, or offering them for sale without obtaining the necessary legal approvals, thereby safeguarding rights and ensuring the circulation of official, authorized copies only.
It reaffirmed that updating the viewing mechanism does not impede access to the material, as students, teachers, parents, and interested parties can view the books at any time via the official website by selecting the desired grade, subject, and textbook.
