His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II congratulated His Majesty Abdullah II of Jordan on the occasion of the Accession to the Throne Day.
In a post on Instagram, the Crown Prince wrote: “May God protect you, Your Majesty, and keep you a leader and a source of support for Jordan and its loyal people.”
Jordanians on Tuesday marked the 27th anniversary of King Abdullah II’s accession to the throne, commemorating a journey of national development, modernization, regional support, and efforts to promote stability and peace.
Since ascending the throne on June 9, 1999, King Abdullah II has overseen significant progress in strengthening the modern Jordanian state, reinforcing the rule of law, and advancing economic, social, and political development. His reign has also seen the launch of major strategic projects and the modernization and restructuring of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and security services.
The King has consistently emphasized that developing Jordan and serving its citizens remain top priorities. Since assuming his constitutional powers, he has launched numerous Royal Initiatives across Jordan’s governorates, districts, and Badia regions to promote sustainable development in education, healthcare, industry, and productivity.
King Abdullah II has also placed strong emphasis on improving the healthcare sector through the construction of new hospitals, enhancement of medical services nationwide, expansion of social protection programs, and support for low-income families.
His Majesty continues to support Jordan’s democratic process by strengthening the role of the legislative authority as a cornerstone of democratic governance. He has also promoted principles of good governance, economic sustainability, investment attraction, and initiatives aimed at reducing poverty and unemployment while positioning Jordan as a regional hub for information and communications technology.
As Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the King has maintained a strong focus on ensuring that the military and security institutions remain at the forefront in terms of training, readiness, and professional development.
Regionally, King Abdullah II continues to advocate for Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian issue, which he has consistently described as a Jordanian and Hashemite priority. He supports achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution.
Since the King assumed his constitutional powers, Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has continued to support initiatives aligned with his vision, particularly in the fields of education and development.
Through her ongoing engagement with communities across Jordan, Queen Rania champions entrepreneurial projects and innovative ideas, helping to empower women and youth while supporting productive, creative, and cultural sectors.
She also advances local development priorities through a network of institutions and initiatives under her patronage, including the Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development, the Jordan River Foundation, the Al-Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans, the Royal Health Awareness Society, the Children’s Museum Jordan, the Madrasati Initiative, the Queen Rania Teacher Academy, and the National Council for Family Affairs.
Internationally, Queen Rania contributes to amplifying Jordan’s humanitarian voice and strengthening cooperation between Jordanian and international institutions. Her speeches and advocacy efforts frequently focus on protecting the rights of children and women, promoting respect for international humanitarian law, and warning against the consequences of double standards and the erosion of global trust in international norms.
She also continues to promote Jordan’s tourism potential and encourages international audiences to visit the Kingdom and explore its rich historical and cultural heritage.
