AMMAN — The Higher
Education Council on Saturday approved a return to in-person education at
public and private universities, according to Al-Ghad news.

For that, the council announced
that public universities will start the first semester as of October 10, 2021,
while private universities will kick off the semester on October 17, 2021.
Minister of Education and
Higher Education Mohammad Abu Qdeis stressed the importance of the return to
in-person education, adding that all of the exams will also be held on
campuses, provided that universities abide by the hybrid learning system, which
was recently approved.
He added that it is important
to comply with the defense order No.32, as well as the “safe return” plan for
the higher education institutions, including all the health protocols to ensure
the safety of all staff, workers, and students.
Abu Qdeis also approved the
general pillars of the higher education programs, including the admission,
research, supervision, thesis subjects, regular follow-up of students’
performances, and the thesis discussion pillar.
