The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that personnel from the Anti-Narcotics Department, in cooperation and coordination with Jordan Customs and other security agencies at the Jaber border crossing, successfully thwarted the smuggling attempt.
According to the details, information was received about an individual of Arab nationality coordinating with people inside Jordan to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills using a cargo vehicle. Authorities monitored the case, identified the vehicle, and tracked those who were to receive the drugs inside Jordan. Once the vehicle arrived, it was seized, and upon inspection, 200,000 narcotic pills were found hidden inside a tire. Simultaneously, a raid was carried out, and the two recipients of the drugs were arrested after locating their whereabouts.
In a separate case, a security force from the department raided a farm in the Central Badia, used by an Arab national drug dealer for his illegal activities. He was arrested, and a search of the premises uncovered 18,000 narcotic pills, five firearms—including an automatic weapon—and a quantity of live ammunition.
