Army foils drug smuggling, infiltration attempts from Syria

AMMAN - The Eastern Military Zone, on Friday, foiled a number of specific types of operations including infiltration attempt, drug and weapons smuggling from Syria into the Kingdom, a source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said. The source added that the new rules of engagement were applied, leading to the retreat of suspects to Syrian territory, adding that all seized materials were all referred to the relevant authorities. The source added that the army will apply "full force" to thwart any infiltration or smuggling attempts to protect the citizens and the security of the Kingdom.
