AMMAN —
Amman Governor Yasser Al-Adwan instructed governors to coordinate with the
various concerned entities, including the Ministry of Industry, Trade and
Supply, to conduct extensive tours of the markets in order to monitor prices
and ensure they are not raised, Jo24 reported.
Such tours would
ascertain the extent to which traders are complying with the officially set
prices and to take the necessary, and deterrent, action against violators,
especially in light of repeated complaints that different traders have
different prices for the same goods.
At the same time,
committees should be established to ensure that goods unfit for human
consumption are not sold and that violators are punished.
