Amman governor urges market inspection tours

AMMAN — Amman Governor Yasser Al-Adwan instructed governors to coordinate with the various concerned entities, including the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, to conduct extensive tours of the markets in order to monitor prices and ensure they are not raised, Jo24 reported. Such tours would ascertain the extent to which traders are complying with the officially set prices and to take the necessary, and deterrent, action against violators, especially in light of repeated complaints that different traders have different prices for the same goods. At the same time, committees should be established to ensure that goods unfit for human consumption are not sold and that violators are punished.
