Amman, Irbid protests call to cancel ‘energy-for-water’ Letter of Intent

AMMAN — On Friday, two marches were held protesting the Letter of Intent for the for the “energy-for-water” project signed between Jordan, the UAE, and Israel, according to Al-Ghad News.  اضافة اعلان

Hundreds of protestors gathered at Al-Husseini Mosque downtown to begin their march, calling for the cancellation of the agreement.
They raised slogans including  “the enemy’s gas is occupation” and “blood does not become water.”

In Irbid, another protest, also calling for the cancellation of the agreement, took place at the Irbid Great Mosque following Friday’s prayers. 
People who participated in the protests stressed that the government has previously disregarded the public’s demands to cancel the Wadi Araba Treaty and Jordan’s gas deal with Israel.
