Speaking during a session titled "Media Catching up with the Moment" at the Tawasol Forum 2026, Al-Momani explained that official bodies must verify the accuracy of information before publishing it, even if it results in a delay in reporting.

The Minister added that in cases where full details are not yet available, the government communicates with the public to inform them that it is actively monitoring events and gathering data.

He stressed the critical importance of transparency when dealing with public opinion, underlining that information should be provided as soon as it is available and verified.

Regarding the government's strategy for countering rumors, Al-Momani stated that the process begins by monitoring the rumor or news piece, followed by an assessment of its spread and impact by the relevant authorities.

Based on this assessment, he noted, a collective decision is made regarding the response—either by disregarding the matter or addressing it indirectly through the media or official spokespersons.

Al-Momani indicated that, in certain cases, an official statement is issued to correct the information. This process involves rapid analysis and situational assessment to ensure effective management of circulating information, which demands a high level of communication readiness, including monitoring, analysis, and appropriate decision-making to prevent rumors from escalating.

The Minister concluded by highlighting the necessity of verifying information prior to its announcement, acknowledging that while the desire for speed is ever-present, uncovering the truth requires time and precision.
