Speaking at the beginning of the Senate session on Wednesday, Al-Fayez stated that these practices are driven by infiltrators and conspiratorial groups attempting to undermine the unity of Jordanians and their national and constitutional institutions. He emphasized that the current stage, given the ongoing conflicts in the region, demands the highest levels of cohesion and national unity.
Al-Fayez affirmed the Senate’s categorical rejection of such practices, highlighting the need to firmly confront those promoting this discourse and prosecute them in accordance with the law.
He added that Jordanians, regardless of their origins or backgrounds, have always formed a single, cohesive fabric, drawing strength from their unity and the wise Hashemite leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, who stands firm against all suspicious plots targeting Jordan.
The Senate President stressed that the Senate, based on its constitutional responsibilities, underscores the importance of strengthening social cohesion as a fundamental pillar of state stability and progress. He warned that regionalist and sectarian rhetoric represents a direct threat to national security and serves foreign agendas that do not wish Jordan well.
Al-Fayez pointed out that exploiting spaces of freedom to spread hatred and incitement does not fall under freedom of opinion and expression; rather, it constitutes crimes punishable by law. He called for no leniency in holding perpetrators accountable to prevent the spread of chaos and the erosion of trust in institutions.
He concluded by asserting that Jordan, with its Hashemite leadership and cohesive people, will remain resilient against attempts to sow discord. He stated that the Senate stands firmly behind His Majesty the King in protecting the nation's security and stability, clarifying that Jordan’s dignity and national unity are above all considerations, and that the Jordanians’ slogan will remain: "We are all Jordanians for Jordan, and Palestinians for Palestine."
