135,000 youth empowered— Youth Minister

AMMAN—On Thursday, Minister of Youth Muhammad Al-Nabulsi announced on the institutionalization of the “Maharati” program which has been implemented for the past five years, in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the “Generations For Peace” organization based on the ministry of youth’s executive plan, according to Khaberni News.اضافة اعلان

The announcement ceremony was held in Al Hussein Youth City in the presence of Princess Aisha Bint Faisal. The program empowered more than 135,000 young men and women with various life skills since its launch; thus it was institutionalized.

Nabulsi added that the program achieved qualitative outcomes by building the young people’s capacities, investing their talents, launching youth initiatives, educating peers, and serving the local communities.

The youth minister added that the "Maharati" program was adopted within a matrix of youth programs that will be implemented in all youth centers. The programs were put forward by the youth during the program development stage within the centers' activation plan.

He also pointed out that the ministry will continue to work with the program in a way that contributes to empowering young people towards achieving positive change in their communities, and empowering youth workers and field facilitators.

Nabulsi lauded the partnership with UNICEF, and the supporting commission and authorities in implementing this program.
