The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, Amer Al-Sartawi, said on Sunday that Civil Defense teams in Aqaba Governorate responded this evening to a report of 12 individuals experiencing breathing difficulties in the southern industrial zone of Aqaba.
According to Al-Sartawi, initial examinations and investigations indicated that the cause was an increase in airborne dust levels carrying industrial emissions, with no detection of any material leak within the complex. The affected individuals were provided first aid and transported to Prince Hashem Military Hospital, where their conditions were described as ranging from good to moderate.
The spokesperson added that joint specialized teams from the Civil Defense, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the Ports Corporation, and the hazardous materials unit conducted necessary inspections and checks on all factories, confirming that no hazardous material leak had occurred.
