For the First Time Outside Europe: ECIS 2025 Held at Applied Science University Under the Patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan
Under the esteemed patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan, the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2025) was hosted by Applied Science Private University (ASU) in Amman, Jordan, from June 12 to 18, 2025, under the theme: "Co-Creating Value for an Intelligent Future." The event welcomed a distinguished gathering of academics, researchers, and experts from prestigious universities and research institutions across Europe and around the world.
Representing Her Royal Highness at the conference opening, Prof. Nabeel Al-Fayyoumi, Vice President of the Royal Scientific Society, delivered a keynote address highlighting the conference’s role as a high-level platform for international academic and research exchange. He also praised ASU’s distinguished academic and research capabilities, which position it as a leader in hosting and shaping global scientific dialogue.
This 33rd edition of ECIS was particularly significant as it marked the first time the conference was held outside Europe since its inception. Choosing Jordan—and specifically ASU—as the host reflects international recognition of the university’s world-class academic standards, advanced infrastructure, and vibrant, innovation-driven campus environment.
ECIS is one of the world’s leading academic conferences in the field of Information Systems, organized annually by the Association for Information Systems (AIS). It brings together state-of-the-art academic practices, pioneering research innovations, and interdisciplinary dialogue on the future of digital technology and society.
The conference was jointly organized by:
Applied Science Private University – Jordan (Host institution)
Kristiania University of Applied Sciences – Norway
Halmstad University – Sweden
It was chaired academically by Professor Roman Beck (Honorary Co-Chair) of both Kristiania University and Halmstad University.
This year’s ECIS received over 1,000 paper submissions from more than 50 countries, with only 320 papers accepted following a rigorous peer-review process adhering to the highest academic standards.
The ECIS 2025 program featured a range of specialized scientific activities, including:
Doctoral Consortium
Junior Faculty Consortium
Pre-conference Workshops & Professional Development Symposia
Main Conference Proceedings
Key thematic tracks addressed critical issues in:
Information Systems
Artificial Intelligence
Business Intelligence
Cybersecurity
Health Information Systems
Digital Transformation
Smart Cities

Digital Sustainability
Hosting ECIS 2025 is a landmark achievement for Applied Science Private University, affirming its emerging global status as a hub for higher education and scientific research, and as a driving force for international academic collaboration in digital innovation and transformation.
