Applied Science University Celebrates a Year of Excellence Under the Patronage of H.E. Samir Al-Rifai
Under the gracious patronage of His Excellency Samir Al-Rifai, and in the presence of prominent national figures as well as representatives of several embassies and diplomatic missions, Applied Science Private University held its annual achievements ceremony in an event marked by a patriotic spirit that reflects Jordan’s advancing position in education and innovation.
The ceremony served as a culmination of a year filled with work and accomplishments, during which the university showcased its most significant academic and research milestones, its progress in global rankings, and the successes achieved by its students and faculty members both locally and internationally. These achievements align with Jordan’s national vision of supporting high-quality education and empowering youth. Most notably, the Microscopic Anatomy Laboratory earned accreditation from the European Union of Medical Specialists, becoming the first center outside Europe to receive this recognition. The university also maintained — for the second consecutive year — its position at the top of all Jordanian universities in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, within the 401–500 band worldwide. At the college level, the Business School earned AACSB accreditation, making it the third in Jordan and placing it among the top 6% of business schools globally to obtain this prestigious accreditation. The year’s accomplishments concluded with the university entering the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects for the first time, becoming the first private university in Jordan to simultaneously earn recognition in the three major global rankings: QS, Times, and Shanghai.
In his remarks during the ceremony, H.E. Samir Al-Rifai expressed his appreciation for Applied Science Private University, commending its distinguished academic journey and its remarkable achievements at both the local and international levels. He affirmed his confidence that the university will continue its pioneering presence, emphasizing his ongoing support for its present and future trajectory.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the ceremony coincided with the football match between the Jordanian and Egyptian national teams. The university ensured the match was broadcast during the event, bringing together attendees to celebrate academic excellence while also supporting the national team.
The ceremony concluded with remarks from the Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, Dr. Haitham Abdullah Abu Khadija, who extended his gratitude to all those behind these achievements — deans, academics, administrators, and students. He also expressed appreciation for the patronage and presence of H.E. Samir Al-Rifai, and thanked the representatives of embassies, diplomatic missions, and national dignitaries who participated in the event.
The university affirmed that this occasion marks a new milestone in its journey toward excellence, strengthening its role as a key partner in supporting national progress and elevating higher education in Jordan.
