According to the information, the Jordan Football Association conducted an inspection visit to Al-Salt Stadium in recent days. Following the visit, the association moved toward withholding approval for the venue to host upcoming league matches until several observations raised during the inspection are addressed. The stadium management was informed of the need to make the required adjustments in the coming period.
The association is considering relocating the matches scheduled to take place at Al-Salt Stadium to other venues, pending the resolution of the outstanding issues and the fulfillment of the requirements needed for the stadium to be approved again. The fate of the seven matches will depend on developments concerning the stadium’s readiness and completion of the required work.
Among the main concerns communicated to the stadium management, according to the information, are arrangements for spectators entering and leaving the venue. The observations indicate that these processes may not be sufficiently safe, making adjustments necessary to strengthen safety measures and facilitate crowd movement to ensure suitable conditions for hosting matches.
Meanwhile, the international break scheduled for next month could provide an opportunity for the relevant parties to address the outstanding issues, potentially allowing Al-Salt Stadium to resume hosting matches if all requirements are met. The Jordan Football Association is also planning to conduct inspection visits approximately every two weeks to monitor the recorded issues and assess progress on the required modifications before deciding whether to approve the stadium again.
These developments have prompted questions among followers of Jordanian football about why the association initially scheduled the seven matches at Al-Salt Stadium from the fifth through the ninth rounds before considering moving them to other venues. Some have questioned why an inspection was not conducted to verify the stadium’s readiness before the league schedule was issued and venues were approved.
Some observers argued that checking stadium readiness before including venues in the competition schedule would help reduce the likelihood of subsequent changes to match locations. Such changes could disrupt clubs and their technical and administrative staff, as well as the organizational and logistical arrangements associated with each match.
They also noted that the matches scheduled at Al-Salt Stadium, according to the schedule issued by the Jordan Football Association, do not include high-profile fixtures involving large fan bases, such as matches between Al-Faisaly and Al-Wehdat. They suggested that attendance at these games may therefore be limited to a few hundred spectators.
The observers added that attendance at a number of Pro League matches is generally limited, prompting them to question the decision to move the games from Al-Salt Stadium when large crowds are not expected. At the same time, they emphasized the importance of meeting safety and security requirements and protecting spectators.
In the same context, observers warned that relocating the matches could disrupt participating clubs, as changing a match venue may require adjustments to technical preparations and logistics, as well as coordination with organizers over alternative stadiums and match arrangements. These changes would need to be managed to avoid affecting the competition and its schedule.
Moving the matches from Al-Salt Stadium could also place additional pressure on other venues hosting Pro League fixtures, given the limited number of available options. Since the start of the current season, the competition has been played at three main stadiums: Amman International Stadium, King Abdullah II Stadium and Petra Stadium.
