The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Wednesday that it has approved the contract renewal for Hossam Hassan as head coach of the Egyptian national team, as well as Ibrahim Hassan as team manager, following a successful World Cup campaign.

Hassan led Egypt to its first-ever World Cup victory before exiting in the Round of 16 after a 3-2 defeat against defending champions Argentina.
The official Facebook page of the Egyptian Football Association posted: "The EFA Board of Directors has approved the contract renewal for national first-team head coach Hossam Hassan and team manager Ibrahim Hassan. This comes as part of the board's commitment to continuing the national team's technical project and building upon the historic achievements made for Egyptian football recently."
The EFA President explained that the board will finalize the official approval and contract renewal procedures during its next meeting, immediately upon the Egyptian delegation's return.
The Egyptian national team is scheduled to return from the United States on Friday morning.
