Jordan Shield Cup kicks off today

AMMAN — The 35th edition of the Jordan Shield Cup kicks off on Thursday at Prince Muhammad Stadium in Zarqa, sponsored by Pioneering Education Schools.اضافة اعلان

The first group will see the Al-Sareeh and Al-Salt teams face off at 3pm and Aqaba youth with contend against Al-Hussein Irbid at 7pm.

The second group matches on Friday will see Maan play Al-Wehdat at 3pm and Al-Jazira play Al-Faisaly at 7pm.

The first round will conclude on Saturday with the third group; Mughir Al-Sarhan is set to face off against Al-Ramtha, and Sahab is scheduled to contend against Jordan Youth at 7pm.

Wehdat has historically done well in the Shield Cup, having 10 championship titles under its belt. Faisaly has won 7; Ramtha 5; Al-Hussein 3; Jazira and Jordan Youth with two each, and Al-Jalil, Kafr Soum, and Yarmouk winning one each.

Jalil currently holds the title of champion after defeating Wehdat with a penalty shootout 6-5, having tied 1-1 during the final match.
