The Bayern Munich striker, who is England’s all-time leading scorer with 89 goals, made an immediate impact on his international debut in 2015, coming on as a substitute against Lithuania in a European Championship qualifier and scoring just 79 seconds after entering the game.

“I think that feeling is always special, even just walking out now and seeing the stadium and the excitement of what’s to come,” Kane told ITV on Tuesday.
“I try never to take it for granted. It’s definitely a special night, but as always, we have to focus on the task at hand.”

Kane has become one of the most influential figures in the history of the England national team. He broke Wayne Rooney’s record as England’s leading goalscorer and also surpassed Rooney as England’s most-capped player at the World Cup earlier this year.

The 33-year-old striker also broke Gary Lineker’s record as England’s leading scorer at the World Cup last summer. He equaled Lineker’s tally of 10 goals with a brace against Croatia before surpassing it with a goal against Panama.
By the end of the tournament, Kane had extended the record to 14 World Cup goals.

Shilton, whose record for international appearances had stood since 1990, posted a congratulatory message on X.

“You’ll go on and break the record in November, I’m sure, and perhaps continue on to set a record that may never be broken,” he said in a video message.
“Because you’re still performing strongly, Harry, playing well and scoring goals, and I know how much dedication and hard work you’ve put in to achieve this.”
