Shanghai Ranking Puts Applied Science University First

The University of Applied Sciences Private University has strengthened its academic and research presence, ranking first among Jordanian private universities and second among all Jordanian universities, according to the 2026 Shanghai Ranking indicators tracking report issued by Shanghai Ranking.

The 2026 Shanghai Ranking indicators report is based on data provided through the ranking’s indicators tracking platform, which enables academic institutions to measure and compare institutional performance according to a set of internationally recognized indicators and criteria.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), published by Shanghai Ranking, is one of the world’s leading university rankings, alongside the QS and Times Higher Education (THE) rankings. It is distinguished by its focus on research performance, academic excellence, awards and scientific achievements, giving it broad influence and prominence in the global higher education sector.

The results underscore the University of Applied Sciences Private University’s growing presence in the global academic and research landscape, as well as the progress it has made in the quality of its research output and academic programs. The achievement supports the university’s vision of building an institution with an international profile and strengthening its position as one of Jordan’s and the region’s leading academic institutions.

The institutional achievement comes alongside the university’s notable performance in the 2025 and 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). According to the Shanghai Ranking reports, the university achieved advanced global positions in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, ranking 401–500 worldwide, and in Artificial Intelligence, ranking 301–400 worldwide.
