The Amman Stock Exchange’s general index rose to 4,124.7 points at the close of last week, compared with 4,093.0 points the previous week, marking a 0.77% increase.
The financial sector index rose by 0.84%, followed by the services sector with a 0.71% increase and the industrial sector with a 0.66% gain.
The average daily trading volume on the Amman Stock Exchange during the week from September 13 to 17 stood at around JD 11 million. Total trading volume reached approximately JD 55 million, with around 29 million shares changing hands through 23,912 transactions.
The financial sector ranked first in trading volume at JD 22.71 million, accounting for 41.30% of total trading. The services sector followed with JD 16.64 million, or 30.26%, while the industrial sector recorded JD 15.64 million, representing 28.44% of total trading.
Of the 131 companies whose shares were traded during the week, 84 recorded gains compared with their previous closing prices, while shares of 27 companies declined.
