The average hotel occupancy rate across all categories in the city of Aqaba reached 72% over the weekend.
Director of Tourism at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Salam Al-Malki, said that occupancy at five-star hotels stood at 85%, four-star hotels at 62%, and three-star hotels at 69%.

Al-Malki stressed that Aqaba continues to strengthen its position as a key destination for domestic and regional tourism, noting that the city is experiencing strong tourist activity that has had a positive impact on hotel occupancy and commercial movement. She added that this clearly reflects the growing demand for Aqaba as a distinctive tourist destination.
For their part, a number of tourists expressed satisfaction with the organization and quality of tourism services, affirming that Aqaba has become a preferred destination for holidays and leisure. They noted that improvements in the tourism product and the diversity of options cater to a wide range of preferences.
Visitors also praised the variety of marine activities, as well as the wide selection of restaurants, cafés, and tourist markets offering diverse options at reasonable prices—enhancing the overall visitor experience and encouraging longer stays in Aqaba.
