Speaking to reporters, Peskov said the Kremlin does not rule out a meeting this week between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff, adding that the visit might take place on Wednesday or Thursday.
The Kremlin emphasized that Russia remains committed to a political and diplomatic resolution as the preferred approach to the Ukraine conflict.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had stated that his special envoy might visit Russia in the coming days—signaling continued American engagement in de-escalation efforts and the pursuit of a negotiated settlement in Ukraine.
