Moscow: Prisoner Exchange with Kyiv Completed in “1,000-for-1,000” Format

The Russian government announced on Sunday the completion of a prisoner exchange with Ukraine under the previously agreed “1,000-for-1,000” format, which was reached during earlier negotiations in Istanbul. In an official statement, the Russian government said:

“Today, a new operation was carried out, involving the exchange of 303 prisoners of war between the two sides. This brings the total number of released prisoners under this agreement to 1,000 individuals from each side. The exchanges have been conducted with close supervision, adhering to humanitarian considerations and ensuring proper care for the released prisoners.”
