The United Arab Emirates revealed on Monday that its national cybersecurity systems successfully detected and thwarted a series of advanced, organized cyberattacks targeting vital sectors across the country, including aviation, energy, and education.

The Cybersecurity Council in Abu Dhabi clarified that the attacks were handled proactively and immediately, containing breach attempts before the attackers could reach their targets or disrupt the continuity of critical systems and services.
The Council noted that the attacks utilized multiple vectors and methods, including attempts to breach digital infrastructure and systems, targeting operational accounts and data, as well as launching targeted phishing campaigns and attempting to exploit users to gain access to targeted digital environments.
It affirmed that national cybersecurity teams successfully detected, repelled, and tracked the suspicious activities and their associated indicators of compromise (IOCs), taking necessary technical measures to neutralize threats and prevent their lateral movement within systems.
The Council added that the national monitoring and response infrastructure operated at high levels of readiness, handling threats immediately upon detection while implementing containment and protection protocols. This prevented attackers from achieving their objectives and preserved the security and continuity of the targeted sectors.
The announcement comes amid escalating global cyber threats targeting infrastructure and vital sectors. The UAE reiterated its ongoing commitment to enhancing early detection capabilities, proactive threat analysis, and rapid incident response within a 24/7 ecosystem designed to protect its digital space and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential services.
