The announcement came in remarks by Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, during an interview with Fox News on Tuesday evening.
Witkoff explained that the United States—which supports Israel in its war on the Palestinians—has prepared comprehensive plans for the post-war stage of the conflict, now ongoing for 23 months.
He added: “We believe we will resolve this one way or another, and we will certainly reach an outcome before the end of the year.”
Separately, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is hosting his Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa’ar in Washington today, with Gaza expected to be at the center of their talks.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, with U.S. backing, has been committing genocide in Gaza, leaving 62,819 Palestinians dead, 158,629 wounded—most of them women and children—over 9,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that has killed 303 Palestinians, including 117 children.
