Lebanon Announces Achievement of “First-Phase Objectives” of Plan to Confine Weapons to State Control

The Lebanese Army announced on Thursday that its plan aimed at confining weapons exclusively to state authority has entered an advanced stage, following the effective and tangible achievement of the objectives of the first phase on the ground.اضافة اعلان

In a statement, the Army explained that the first phase focused on extending control over areas that have come under the Army’s authority in the sector south of the Litani River, with the exception of territories and sites that remain under Israeli occupation.

The statement noted that operations in this sector are ongoing until the clearance of unexploded ordnance and tunnels is completed, in order to ensure the consolidation of control and the enhancement of stability in the area.
