The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, emphasized on Monday the necessity for the Lebanese state, as well as the Arab and international communities, to take immediate action to halt Israel's systematic destruction and blowing up of villages. This operation is fully underway in the city of Bint Jbeil and the villages of its district, as well as in the districts of Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Tyre. Berri noted that these actions clearly demonstrate Israel's true intentions to make vast areas of southern Lebanon uninhabitable, adding that it is no longer acceptable to meet this situation with silence, as is currently happening.

In a statement carried by the National News Agency (NNA), Berri praised the declarations and stances issued by heads of municipal councils and spiritual figures in the border villages and towns, particularly the Christian ones in the Marjayoun and Bint Jbeil districts. Most notable among these was the stance from the Rmeich municipality, which rejected and denied the false claims made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the desire of these villages' residents to join the "occupying Israeli entity."
He stressed that the positions of the residents and figures of these villages, their steadfastness, and their adherence to their land and identity reflect their deeply rooted national belonging, which they will not compromise under any circumstances. Furthermore, he warned against falling for the lies and fabrications promoted by Israeli political circles, which carry divisive agendas aimed at driving a wedge among the residents of the border areas. He affirmed that these residents have always shared, and will continue to share, the exact same concerns, wounds, hopes, and pain: ending the war, liberating the land, returning to it, and rebuilding what has been and is being destroyed daily by the Israeli aggression.
