The Egyptian Presidency said on Sunday that the National Defense Council had decided to stand fully in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The council reaffirmed its support for Saudi Arabia in safeguarding its national capabilities, territorial integrity and Islamic holy sites, and pledged to provide all forms of support to the kingdom in defending its security and stability.
Egypt’s House of Representatives is also holding an emergency plenary session on Sunday to consider a decision to deploy Egyptian military forces to Saudi Arabia on a defensive mission.
